S.E.E.D. Training…

Skills. Education. Empathy. Development. Those four words in the tag-line, Skills. Education. Empathy. Development are what we’re all about. Skills , because we know that you need your staff to be safe and competent. Education because we know that you need your training to be in line with your comapany and strategic objectives. Empathy , because we practice what we preach; we walk the talk. We’re Values Driven . It extends beyond the care setting and into the training room and advancing ‘life skills’. We show by example, by scenario, by discussion, by experience. We SHOW, we don’t just ‘tell’. I’m sure we’ve all attended those long, boring, dry sessions, so we do feel your pain! Development . The shop-floor staff of today are the managers of tomorrow, and we believe that our brand of training offers them a step-up and a great foundation for career development, and we have access to many courses that will help them (and, by default, you) with this. Here at SEED Training, we pride ourselves on our ability to train our clients not only in ‘How’ to do something, but also on ‘Why’. Like you, we want your staff to be safe. If your staff are safe, your clients are safe. All our training is person-centred and humanist from the outset, by default and design; we reach into the hearts and minds of your staff in order to change behaviours. We network extensively with external training organisations and experienced individuals throughout the UK who share our ethic and values, so if we’re not able to fulfil your requirements, we will almost certainly know someone who can! We prefer our training to be delivered face-to-face, in real-world settings, although online training packages and webinars are in development; video conferencing facilities are available. We are trauma-informed and neurodivergent trainers. Far from being a handicap, we see our neurodivergence as our ‘superpower’, our ‘Ace’ card, because we see things differently. We are values-driven and ethical. We have access to many years experience and know-how, especially within the care sector, but also beyond. We can also offer the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, including Peer Training and our own “Peer Coaching & Mentoring” qualification. We are fully insured & GDPR compliant. SEED Training is a member of The First Aid Industry Body. Inspectors within HSE, DfE and OFSTED accept First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) First Aid certificates in exactly the same way as certificates issued by any Awarding Body (under Ofqual/SQA) . We offer an extensive range of courses, legislative, mandatory, and developmental; We can provide anything from one-off bespoke courses to a fully tailored induction and annual update refresher training. We work through other registered and approved centres, and ALL our courses meet or exceed all current professional standards and assessment criteria, and so you can be safe in the knowledge that your training needs are catered to safely, appropriately, and legally.

The Care Connector

Network

Associate Director and Trainer - Facilitator (Iain Clague & Marianne Mills) https://www.thecareconnector.co.uk/

David Coomer SENM, Dip HE STAEM

Director, Specialist Trainer - Facilitator, SEED Training Qualified & experienced trainer, coach, instructor, assessor and IQA. Specialisms: Neuroscience and The Dementias, Adult Safeguarding, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Moving & Handling, First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Autism.
How it all began…. By wanting to make a difference to peoples lives. Ex-psychiatric nurse and Residential Social Worker with children and young families, David began his training career working with disillusioned and disenfranchised 19-24 year-olds on the Government's ‘New Deal’ scheme. From there he worked for eight years as an in-house and Operational trainer, and then as a Training Manager with several nationally established care companies. He has also been an NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier, as well as a visiting lecturer at local colleges. David established SEED Training to promote and train others in the core ethic and principles by which he is driven. He writes, designs and compiles courses to a range of criteria set by either the client or external agencies and awarding bodies. We aim to be the best at what we do and help change the face of Care one establishment at a time. So why SEED Training? Study after study indicates that employees who are denied opportunities to learn and grow in their organisation are more likely to be disengaged, disconnected and looking for better prospects elsewhere. SEED Training has the power to improve employees’ experience throughout their career journey. Offering opportunities for growth, development, collaboration and connection through training can keep employees engaged, increase job satisfaction and improve staff wellbeing and retention rates. With face to face training not being possible all of the time, organisations are choosing e-learning advertised to help you remain ‘compliant’ at a low cost.  But e-learning does not change beliefs, mindsets, or behaviours. With e-learning, each delegate brings their own frame of reference and can filter out those things that do not fit within this. Being with a group of peers and a facilitator will have a much bigger impact even through Zoom or Teams. Delegates beliefs may be challenged; it is powerful, it is transformational, and your organisation deserves more than just compliance!
